“For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.” (Exodus 34:14 KJV)

I needed therapy for my back again. The search for a physical therapy center has been a challenge because most centers or therapists are involved in other spitirul practces.

I found a small physical therapy business near where we live, but it too mentioned a practice I don’t want to get near to. It seems, though, that this is the way of the world in most businesses.

I called the office and talked with the owner, who is the head therapist. She was very kind. I explained my physical therapy need. In addition, I explained that I was a Christian devoted to Jesus Christ and that I was absolutely closed to any other type of influence. She said they would respect my faith above all else.

I told her that I was interested in having therapy by a particular therapist on her team, because of her bio on their website. She said she was very glad to hear that and that I would not have any problems with that therapist’s attitude at all. She then gave me the therapist’s contact information.

I called the therapist and explained the same to her about my physical therapy need and my closed heart to certain practices. She was very understanding. She said those practices were not done in the therapy office. I asked her if she practiced them. She said she did not.

“I also want you to know that I am a Christian. My life is devoted to Jesus Christ. What faith do you practice?”

“I am a Catholic, but I don’t practice it. My parents and friends go to church, but I do not.”

“I want you to know that, at times, I will talk about Jesus. I know Him because, when I was young, I asked God to tell me who He was, and Jesus spoke to me Himself and told me that I could not go to the Father but through Him, because He had given His life for me on the cross for my sins. Now, when you have an experience like that, what else would you want to talk about? What else would you want others to know? Praying to God is simply talking to Him, telling Him everything that is on your heart. If you would like to know Jesus yourself, whenever you are ready, I can pray with you. I can pray with you now, if you like.”

I thought for sure since we had not yet met each other, she was going to say, “Well, that is private to me, or I don’t mix religion with my work.”

But, much to my surprise, with the most surrendered and sweet voice, she said, “Yes, I would like to.”

We prayed. She believed in Jesus as her personal Saviour. She confessed and believed in her heart that He had died and was raised from the dead and at His cross confessed her sins and asked Him for His forgiveness. She gave her life to Jesus and asked Him to use her for His glory.

This was such a sweet salvation—a heart so sweet and tender to believe in Jesus. I was overjoyed.

When I met her for my therapy, I brought my old worn and torn Bible and a new compact Bible. As I lay on the therapy table, I asked her to please give me my purse. I pulled out my Bible and opened it. It had a lot of hand written notes, underlined scriptures, and tabs that I placed on many pages over the years.

“I have been reading the Bible for forty-five years.” I pulled out the new compact Bible, “This Bible is yours. I have marked the Bible at the book of John, where you should start reading. She took it right away with both hands. “Talk to God about everything that is on your heart. Then, open your Bible and read. God will answer you through His Word. This is where you will find God—in the Bible.”

She listened intently, as she performed physical therapy on me.

“Abba, Father, I had no idea that searching for a physical therapist would lead me to a young woman who was so sweet and had such a tender heart, ready to believe in Your Son. Jesus, grow her in You through Your Word. Watch over her and guide her footsteps in Yours. Holy Spirit, thank You for leading me to make that phone call that led to a soul God had already chosen to give to His Son. She’s all yours, King Jesus!”
