And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” (John 10:28-29, KJV)

On our way to the airport, we received a text from the airline that our flight had been delayed. My husband called customer service to see about getting rerouted through another airport, but it was all rather complicated.

When we arrived at the airport, my husband explained to the airline agent that he had called customer service and what had been said. Due to the agent’s slow response and accent, we were not sure if our communication was clear. We asked the airline agent to her left, who seemed to be of Italian descent, if she could help her. The first agent was on the phone trying to get some help, but said that it was not possible to rebook. And, that the only flight available was one in which we’d have to spend the night at another airport. The airline agent to her right was Asian. She too began to help her, so all three of them were trying to help us.

I sat on top of one of our suitcases to rest my back and prayed for God to help them. Finally, a resolution! There happened to be only two seats available on a later flight the same day. That meant a three-hour layover. This was better than spending the night at an airport. We were so thankful to the Lord. And we thanked the three agents for their help.

Because I was sitting on a suitcase, the agent of Italian descent asked me if I needed help. I assured her that I was doing well. This gave me the opportunity to tell the agents about God’s work with my health. The three of them listened and were amazed.

My husband already had the tickets in hand and had started walking away to the area where we had to leave our luggage. I started toward him, but I looked back and glanced at the three airline agents and, without thinking, asked, “Do you know Jesus as your Saviour?” They looked at each other and each said that they did not.

“Would you like to ask Him to be your Saviour?” They looked straight at me. The Asian woman picked up a little yellow religious booklet to let me know that she had a heart for God.

Then I looked at each one at a time and asked each of them separately, “Would you like to know Jesus?”

Each one responded, “Yes.”

“Okay,” I proceeded. “We are going to pray together. Ready?”

They each said, “Yes.”

No one had approached the area to check in, and no one was around. This was unusual at a busy airport. I glanced over at my husband. He was waiting.

I looked at them. “Let’s pray,” I said. The four of us prayed together. They prayed, thanking God for His love for them. They confessed with their mouths and believed in their hearts that Jesus was the Son of God, that He had died and rose again. They asked Him to forgive them for their sins at His cross and gave their lives to Him for His glory.

They were each smiling afterward, and their eyes were gleaming! I smiled widely, looked at each one in their eyes, and told them, “Now, you are in God’s hands. No one can take you out of them, not even you!” They smiled even more widely.

I told them to get a Bible and start reading in the book of John, a little at a time, and get to know the God who now lived in them by the power of the Holy Spirit. They smiled. I looked at my husband and walked as fast as I could to join him and get on our way to the gate. My husband and I were amazed at what God had just done!

When we boarded the plane, our seats had been upgraded. We were so surprised! Our three new sisters in Christ had blessed the Lord and us!

Our three-hour layover was a blessing! We met with a famous general who was a Christian and on his way to the same conference. My husband and he had a very interesting conversation and wonderful time of fellowship!

“Abba, Father, three souls saved at the same time at an airline ticket counter! We were so amazed at how all had happened. You caused our flight to be delayed, because You had three souls You had prepared to believe and to give to Your Son. And You kept everyone away from the ticket counter at a busy airport. Jesus, how present You were in these lives, ready to receive them! Holy Spirit, how is it that You used my mouth to ask these three women if they knew Jesus! It surely wasn’t me! Glory to You, Holy Son of God, the Saviour of souls! And, thank You, Lord for the layover fellowship. Praise Your holy name!”
