“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3, KJV)

As I observed the young woman who was in front of me, I wondered if she would understand the message of salvation in Christ. She seemed rather slow in responding. As I stood in front of her, I kept waiting on the Lord to help me know what to say to start a conversation.

I looked at her name tag. I told her that her name was very pretty. She smiled and said that it was short for her real name because people had trouble pronouncing it.  I asked her where she was from. She answered. Then, she asked me where I was from. We talked a little about each other’s family heritages.

Unlike most young people today, she was calm and attentive without calling attention to herself. She had a very gentle and sweet disposition and was patient and helpful.

She was slow to respond, but you could tell that she was quick in thought. She simply took her time to observe and comment. She was just a very laid-back person. I asked her what she knew about God.

She pointed up and said, “He’s up there.”

I agreed, “Yes, He is.”  Would you like to talk with Him and make Him the One who is your God and Saviour of your soul?”

Very calmly she responded, “Yes, I would.”

I was so surprised, because as I was telling her about God, I was thinking that perhaps she just might not be interested. I asked her if she would like to pray.

She softly and quickly answered, “Yes.”  We looked straight into each other’s eyes as we prayed. Afterward, she was so joyful!

We talked about the Bible, and I told her about Bible apps so that she could start reading it, because she said that she did not have one. The next time I saw her, she still had the joy that God had given her when she surrendered her life to Jesus.

I asked, “Have you read the Bible?”

Smiling grandly, she answered, “I have, and it is very interesting!” I then told her of the church that she could watch online. She was very willing to look into it.

“Abba, Father, how sweet and quiet this young woman was. As I looked at her, I was not sure if she would understand about Your Son. But, You had been drawing her to Him. Jesus, in my hesitance, I was questioning if this soul would receive You.  You had already claimed her for Yourself. She just needed someone to tell her about You.  I never know of those whom You want with You in Heaven. I just have to try to tell about You. If it were not for the Holy Spirit’s help, what would I say to the soul in front of me to whom You, Messiah, are revealing Yourself because of Your love!”
