“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12, KJV)

We had finished talking with a man from Sydney, Australia, who had given his life to Jesus, as we waited for our luggage at the airport. We were hurrying to leave Washington-Dulles airport because our sitter was rushing our golden retriever to the veterinarian.

While I was talking on my iPhone with the vet, my husband and I got into a taxi. The taxi driver was  a very young Ethiopian. He was having a conversation with my husband. He was new to the U.S., and this was his first job. He was just learning the D.C. area.

While on the iPhone, I thought, I have to end this call, so I can tell this young man about Jesus. I asked him if he would like to know Jesus as his Savior. He said that he was not sure. I told him that without Him, he cannot go to heaven. He responded, “Oh, I want to go to heaven.”

I said, “Well, without believing in Jesus, you cannot.”

He said, “I am not sure.”

I replied, “Well then, there is hell.”

His response was, “Oh, I do not want to go to hell.”

I took the risk, “Okay, let’s pray to make sure that you do not miss heaven.”

While listening to me, he missed the exit on the freeway, because of the decision he was about to make. He apologized. Finally, he said, “Okay.”  We prayed, and this young Ethiopian, who had just arrived in the U.S., gave his life to Jesus.

He said, “This is so great! Thank you! I feel so good!”

I said, “That is the love of Jesus. Now, no matter what happens, you will be in heaven with Him.” He smiled and thanked me.

When we arrived at the vet, I grabbed my suitcase and ran inside. My husband stayed to pay the taxi driver, who was now a new believer in Christ. It was not just about rushing to the vet. It was about Jesus rushing to the Ethiopian to save his soul! Praise His name!

“Abba, Father, how you move just in time for a soul whose time it is to know Your Son! In a rush, You have not forgotten to claim a soul in it. Messiah, how Your love is so strong! It moved the moment of a hurried conversation to the talk of who You are, the Soul Savior. Spirit of God, thank You for bringing this young, specific Ethiopian into our rushing moments. You moved his life situations to make him a taxi driver in the D.C area who would hear the Word and believe in Jesus and have eternal life.”
