My husband was contacted by a friend who was going to be in DC for an event. He asked us to join him and another friend for dinner. Having had a very tiring day, I was not sure if I had the energy to join them. I went after all. We went to a Jewish restaurant. The waitresses were all Hispanic. I talked in Spanish with each of them who served us.

After a while, I thought, the Lord may want me to tell one of the waitresses about Him. So, as they served us, I waited to listen to the Holy Spirit as to which one that may be. As the waitresses served us, I observed each one, asking the Lord which one I should I tell about Him.

I thought that the first waitress who had taken our order was the one that Jesus wanted me to talk with. But, she did not return. Then a new waitress came with our order. I didn’t pay much attention to her as we were helping her to place our orders on the table.

The waitress who had brought our order came by to ask if all was okay. She lingered a little at our table. This got my attention. I asked her where she was from and if she had heard about the Son of God. She thought for a moment and had no answer. I asked her again if she had ever heard of the Son of God. She thought again and still no answer. Then she said that she had heard of God. I asked her if she knew about the need for salvation in Jesus Christ to be in heaven. She said that she had not.

I explained salvation in Christ to her and asked her, “Have you ever asked Jesus to be your personal Saviour?”

She said, “No, I never have.”

“Would you like to learn and ask Him?” I asked her.

“Yes, I would.” She responded.

“Let’s talk to Him together and ask Him.” I said.

While the men dined and talked—and in the midst of all the other customers—this woman gave her life to Christ, as she stood by our table and confessed Him as her Saviour. We then talked about Jesus and reading the Bible. I gave her a soft hug, and we talked again about where and how to read the Bible.

“Abba, Father, I was not sure that I could make it through the night. My health was a challenge as we dined. Jesus, thank You for holding me up with Your righteous right hand. Spirit of God, thank You for helping me talk to this woman about Jesus, for her salvation in Him.”
