We were in a hotel in Cleveland attending a political conference. The organization is thriving with the hope for a political awakening for Christian leadership. All that I could think about is that this country needs people praying.

I went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. I was served by a man who was wearing earrings. I looked into his eyes and let him read mine. I am reading his to see if there might be evidence for salvation.

He read what was in my eyes, so he took extra care to take my order and served me as if I was the only one he was attending. I felt as if I was in a royal palace being served by a royal servant.

Yes, I knew that his soul would be saved today. I observed him as he gently and kindly placed each item on the table. Everything looked as if he had prepared it himself, and he placed everything in front of me with attentiveness.

Each time that he brought something to me, he would look into my eyes. He was serving the King who lives inside of me. We both knew that this time was special.

As I prepared to leave, he came near. I said, “I want you to know that God loves you. He loves you so much that His Son died for you on the Cross.” His eyes filled with tears.

I said, “He loves you and He wants you know who He is. His name is Jesus. It is so easy to talk with Him. Would you like to talk to Him with me? We can pray together, and you can ask Him to be Your God. Let’s pray.”

We were standing in the middle of the restaurant. I hoped that no one would come by at that moment or that he would be called away. We looked into each other’s eyes. I started praying and said, “Go ahead, you can follow.”

He started to pray. I led him to confess that he believed in the Son of God, Jesus, with his heart, that he was professing Him with His mouth, repenting, and thanking Him for forgiveness and the Cross.

He smiled and thanked me over and over again. I smiled and told him that it was an honor to serve him in that way.

We stood for a moment in silence. We looked each other again, smiling and full of joy!

“Abba, in the midst of a political gathering, there are souls all around who You are calling to Yourself. Cause us to be aware that we are in a harvest—one invisible to human eyes, but where Your Spirit Who lives inside of us is calling souls to Your Son. Cause us to hear His soft voice in the midst of the loud political voices—the voices of those who want human beings to be the solution for this country, when the solution is for human hearts to turn to You.”

“Messiah, take a look at us. We have taken so many steps away from Your presence that we cannot hear the souls of men crying out for a Savior. Help us, Holy Spirit, to rend our hearts and cry out to the Savior in repentance. Messiah, You who sit on the throne of mercy, let the power of Your mercy draw us to our knees to look to You again as the only answer to this nation.

“Cause our hearts to cry out for Your return. And as we are crying out, cause the footsteps of the lost to walk in our direction that we may tell of the One that they too need to cry out to. Let it be so, that as we are on our knees, their footsteps are the sound of an army of souls who escape hell because our repentance has caused us to turn to You and tell of YOU.”
