While at a conference, we ran into an Israeli friend who is a rabbi. We first met him while in Israel. He was developing a one of a kind children’s Bible tech game. We sat in his office and discussed his heart about the Bible. He is a scholar of the Old Testament. We learned so much.

I then spoke to him about the New Testament and talked to him about Jesus. He listened intently without speaking a word. After I shared all that God put in my heart, I challenged him to know the Son of God for himself.

He could not speak. Finally, he said, “I have never heard such powerful words. And I don’t know what to do with them. They are so powerful that I cannot even say anything or move. Such a thin, little woman you are, carrying such power with you.”

Then he grew silent again and gave a smile of humility. I knew that God was working in his heart. I had to leave the rest to the Holy Spirit alone.

At the conference he had his son with him, who was just about to join the Israeli military. This gave me the opportunity to tell him whom to call on if he was ever in need or in danger. Afterward, our friend said, “I have never met anyone anywhere in my life who has the passion for Jesus as she does.”

He talked about being a Jew and never giving it up. I drew near to him and said, “Draw near to God and tell Him that you would like to give Him something that you have not given to Him, your heart. Ask Him if He will take it in return for His heart in you.” He was silenced, as was I.

After a couple of minutes, he looked up, then down, and with eyes full of humility said, “Yes, I will do this.”

I then responded, “Then have the courage to accept His answer.” I continued, “You see, Jesus is not the Son of the God of America; He is the Son of the God of Israel.”

He smiled, looked up, and then away for a couple of minutes before saying again, “Yes, I will do this.”

We hugged. I told him, “The next time we see each other, we will discuss what God answered and your experience.”

He looked straight at me with a smile and said, “Yes. I will look forward to this.”

“Abba, how is it that I have yet the opportunity to speak to this rabbi of praying in believing in Your Son, Jesus? I am waiting on You. I never thought that I would have the opportunity to speak with him. I thought for sure that he would not listen. But You have given him a heart to hear.

“Will You not speak to him of Your Son? Will You not reveal Jesus to him? Will You not cause him to know that passion that You have for Your Son for himself?

“Speak to Him, Jesus; draw him to Your Son, Abba, Father. I am waiting.”

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
