“For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us therewith content.” (1 Timothy 6:7-8, KJV)

During one of our days in Israel, while having breakfast at the hotel, I walked up to one of the areas where the food was placed in the most beautiful setting. In the middle of the area, an Israeli woman, who was one of the managers of this section, stopped me and said, “I have been watching you every morning, and you have it all.”

“What was she talking about?” I thought.

“There is something on you, and it is all over you. I can see it!” We drew closer together.

“It’s God. It is His Spirit. It’s His Son. And He has the same for you, because He loves you.”

As I hugged her she said, “I hope so.”

We were still standing very close to each other. “Of course He does; expect it.”

I went about my breakfast and she about her work. “I will see you next time,” she said. She stayed on my heart throughout the rest of the day, and I wondered if I would see her again. I wanted to tell her about Jesus.

On our last day at the hotel, we were again going to have breakfast. I did not see her, so I asked one of the servers if they could contact her for me. I knew she would be very busy and that she might not have the time to come by. While I was eating, I was surprised that she came to see me. “I didn’t want to leave without saying good-bye,” I said.

“I told you that I would see you next time,” she responded with a sweet smile. We hugged tightly.

“The other day, you said that you had hope, and that is a good thing, because God is the only hope that you have. Tell me what is on your heart?”

“Let’s sit down and talk,” she said. “I want peace.” She shared more about her heart and her family. She said, “We never have enough. We always want more in the future. We are never satisfied.”

“God is the only one who can give you peace, but you must be ready to believe in His Son. I know that this may be very difficult. You must believe in the cross where He took your sin and my sin. This is hard for a Jew. But you must make your choice. You see, you must believe that He is the only way to the Father—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is the only way to heaven. This choice is what you must think about. I would like to ask you if you would be willing to pray and ask Him to be your God, you Saviour.”

She thought for a moment. I waited. But I was very nervous. She was very bright, beautiful, and conscientious. I was very simple in my introduction of Jesus. How much more could I say?

“Yes, I can do this,” I was surprised to hear.

“Would you like for me to pray with you right now?”

“Yes,” she said. We held hands as we prayed, and she confessed Jesus as the Son of God and her Saviour, confessed her sin at the cross, and gave her life to Him for His glory.

Afterward, she was in very deep thought about what she had just believed. I stayed quiet as she met her Lord and Saviour in her heart and life.

We hugged and kissed each other. I told her that the next time I came to Israel, I would like for her to visit with us. She agreed. I wanted to talk with her more, but it was time to catch our flight to the U.S.

God had saved four managers at this hotel. And two others during our time in Israel.  Glory to the Name of His Son, Jesus!

“Abba, I was rather nervous. I was not too sure what to say, but Your Spirit helped me with what she needed to hear. The look on her face as she believed in Your Son, Father, is still on my heart.  Jesus, now she will know You as her satisfaction, contentment, hope and peace. Her future will be with You. And, Messiah, there are six more stones on Your crown. This is Your love after the Jew – Glory!”
