“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10)

We were on the way back to the U.S. from Australia. My thought was, “God, You saved souls on the way to and in Australia. But, Father, You have not saved one soul as we’ve traveled home from Australia.”

On the connecting flight from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., my husband had a brief conversation with one of the passengers who heard us mention Sydney (his hometown).

After getting off the flight and going to baggage claim, I had to call our golden retriever’s vet and have the sitter rush her to the vet’s office. While I was on the call, I noticed that a man approached my husband while he was waiting for our luggage.

I finished the call. My husband brought the man toward me, introduced us, and told me that the man had a lot of good biblical questions. The man began to share what he knew about the Bible and that he read about Israel and prophecy. What he shared was impressive.

I stopped him and said, “It is great to see that you have been searching the Scriptures, but have you come to know the God of the Scriptures? Let’s not talk about all that you know. Let’s talk about the One you need to give your life to. Then you will understand what you have been reading.”

He looked into my eyes. He didn’t say anything. I said, “Okay, are you ready?” He began to talk about his Bible knowledge again. I told him, “We are not going there. We need to pray first and ask the God of the Bible to be your God. Let’s pray.”

His face was red and his eyes were now focused on mine. We prayed. This man gave his life to Jesus. He repented and asked Jesus to take his life for His glory.

Then tears welled up in his eyes. He was silent. The moments went by as he waited for his tears to dry up. Choking on his words, he said, “And I was looking for knowledge.” He cried. The power of salvation was in him. He was not able to speak. His whole stature was being humbled before the living God. All he could do was be silent as the Spirit of God took possession of his soul.

It took awhile before he was able to speak. With a very resolute look in his eyes, he looked at me and said, “You are something else!”

I smiled. “It is Him, Jesus, the Son of God who now owns you.”

Tears continued to well up in his eyes. He was not able to speak again. His face was red. He looked at me very seriously and joyfully. The work was done. The Soul Saviour revealed Himself to this man in the power of His love.

He then said, “I am a scientist. I was sent here for a meeting. But, really, I could not figure out why I had to come. But, this is why! My travel here is over. I may as well get back on the flight and go back home to Sydney.” We laughed!

The three of us hugged as we welcomed this brother into the body of Christ. He placed his arms around us and kept embracing us as his long-awaited brother and sister. “Oh the blood of Jesus that washes white as snow and makes all things new!”

“Abba, Father, we want to thank You for saving souls going to and coming from Australia. We thank you, Messiah, for making us fishermen of men. Holy Spirit, thank You for revealing the power of God’s love that enters a man and causes him to surrender his life to God’s Son.”

“Abba, my voice cries out to You, giving You glory. All power and majesty is Yours, Messiah. You who pursue souls across the oceans and call them out by name to know Your name! You cause us to lay down our lives to be Your messengers of salvation to the point of having no identity on this earth, as You reap souls to be in heaven with You forever!”
