“He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.” (Psalm 111:4, KJV).

After we left the one shoe store, we went to another, because my husband wanted me to look for another pair of shoes. I didn’t really care for the shoes in this store, but I looked anyway.

I found a pair that might work to keep my feet flat on the ground to help my back. An attendant came to assist me to look for my size. She moved everything around, looking at the shoe boxes behind the displayed shoes to make sure she didn’t miss finding my size. But it was not in stock.

I really appreciated her service and care. I asked her where she was from. After she told me, I said, “God has brought so many people from your country and has blessed them. Do you know God?”

She stopped working and stood right in front of me. “Yes,” she replied.

“How long have you known Him?” I asked.

“I was brought up that way since I was a little girl,” she explained.

“Have you asked Him to be your personal Saviour, the Lord of your life?” I questioned her.

“No, I have not—not yet,” she answered.

She looked seriously into my eyes. “What is your name?” I asked her. After she told me her name, I addressed her by it and said, “Well, it’s time that you do. No one here knows what we are talking about.” I pretended to be shopping for a pair of shoes. I opened the box and unwrapped them. “Let’s pray.”

She understood what I was doing. Immediately, she gently started to help me unwrap the shoes and wrap them again, as I helped her. Both of us pretending to wrap and unwrap a box of shoes, so that she would not get in trouble at work, we began to pray.

As we wrapped the shoes and put them back in the box, she prayed with me and the “not yet” took place. She asked Jesus to be her Saviour and gave her life to Him.

With a big smile, she embraced me and thanked me. We held onto the embrace for a few seconds, as I told her how much God loved her.

As we wrapped shoes, Jesus in His mercy and compassion wrapped her in His love!

Ever since she was a little girl, God had been pursuing after her soul for His Son. Someone had been praying for her salvation. Glory!

“Abba Father! How wondrous You are to choose a soul for Your Son and send Your Holy Spirit to pursue her for years until she was saved! Jesus, how Your love is so strong for a soul! Your mercy and compassion are everlasting! Nothing can stop a soul from being saved by You! Your Spirit reveals Your love, and by Him souls are saved in Your name; souls hear truth!”
