“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30, KJV)

After the shoe stores and the travel-bag store, the thought came to my heart to go look at guitars. I called our ministry assistant, who is a twenty-year guitarist, and asked him where the guitar store was he had mentioned to me. He just happened to be driving by it. We asked him if he would meet us there. By the time we arrived, he was already inside the store, playing a guitar.

We looked at all the guitars, but the one he was playing happened to have the best sound. I asked an attendant what he could tell us about the guitar. He said it was the beginner guitar of one of the best guitar brands. Well, what else could I need?

The attendant continued speaking quickly, with so much more information. He seemed wired! I felt for him. He needed peace, God’s peace. I looked at his name tag and asked him how to properly pronounce his name. He talked a little about his name in speed-talk. Then, he left.

As I was paying for the guitar, the attendant came to complete the transaction. Again, he gave some basic information in speed-talk about the guitar.

Finally, I said, “You need to talk with God. You know when you talk to Him, you can’t speed-talk. You have to take your time to let Him know of all that is in your heart. He will take the time to listen to you and answer you. Would you like to talk with Him?” Searching his eyes, I waited for his response.

“Yes, I would.”

I looked in his eyes, and they seemed to get rather crossed for a moment as if the darkness in him was stirred. Whatever he had on his mind was in his eyes now.

“Would you like to pray right now?” I asked carefully.

“Yes, I would.”

Before I knew it, we were praying. He confessed Jesus as his Saviour, asked forgiveness of his sins, and gave his life to Him.

Afterward, there was a silence. I waited. Then, he thanked me.

We talked about the Bible. Now his speech had slowed down, and he was calm. I shared with him about the Bible and observed him, as he shared about having one. Someone had been sowing and laboring for his soul, and God had just answered! Saved! Glory!

The day before going to the shoe stores and the bag store, we had been to the grocery stores. I looked at the people, but no one seemed ready to hear about Jesus—or was I missing it? I was a bit saddened because of this. I was asking the Lord, “God, no souls?” I looked at people. “Where have I missed it, Messiah? Lord, I don’t have a story for the readers to encourage them.”

But the next day within two hours, God had saved four souls!

“Abba, Father, who can speak of what You do when You draw a soul to know Your Son?! Jesus, how can one describe what it’s like when someone’s eyes are dark, and then You, the Light, enter the soul and give light to the eyes, because Your Spirit has come to live inside that vacant part of a soul where You came to live—the heart of man!”
