But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (2Timothy 1:10, KJV)

Before the COVID-19 lockdown, I went to Michaels, a store that has art supplies, to purchase some paints and canvases. I had a desire to use the gift that God had given me to draw and paint for Him. In-between work, writing a book, healing and waiting on Him to see us through the virus situation, I would take a little time to create whatever He desired. I knew He was directing me in this, and I was looking forward to what He would do.

There was hardly anyone in the store, so I was able to get what I needed very quickly. While I was paying for the items, the cashier, a very simple, pretty and sweet young girl, did not say much. I thought she might feel alone. There was no one in line, no customers close by, and no other cashier.

“How are you?” I asked.

She smiled a little, “I’m okay.”

“I guess this business stayed open because of many planning to work on projects while having to stay inside,” I said.

“Yes, this store was designated as essential because of that. We want to help with this,” she explained.

“That was very thoughtful,” I responded.

“Do you know why all this is happening with this virus?” I asked her.

“No,” she said.

“Would you like me to tell you?”

“Yes, I would.”

“It is because Jesus is coming soon. This is another sign of this. When this is over, there will be another event and another, because His return is near.”

She looked straight into my eyes.

“Jesus is not only the Saviour of the world but also a personal Saviour to those who believe in Him and ask Him.”

She was still for a moment. I didn’t say anything more. I could tell that the Holy Spirit was working in her heart. She continued to ring up the items.

After she finished, I asked, “Would you like to know Jesus as your personal Saviour? Would you like for me to pray with you to ask Him?”

She looked away for a couple of seconds. Then her eyes were on mine again.

“Yes, I would.”

“Let’s pray.”

We prayed, as she believed in Jesus as the Son of God who had died and risen. She asked Him to be her personal Saviour. She confessed her sins and asked for forgiveness and for her life to be used for His glory.

After we prayed, she smiled so sweetly and her eyes glimmered with joy. “Thank you so much!”

“You don’t have to worry about anything now. He will care for you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do you have a Bible?”

“Yes.”

“Start reading the book of John and get to know the God who loves you and what He did for you. Read the Bible daily.”

“Thank you. I will.”

Her smile was so sweet and her eyes had life in them. We were both overjoyed!

“Abba, Father, how sweet this young girl was. Jesus, how wonderful it is to see such a young girl so ready to believe in You during this time.  Lately, Lord, it has been the young who are believing in You. I know there are so many like her! If only we didn’t have a lockdown, we could tell so many more about You. These are high-school-aged young girls and boys. So many will be ready to believe in You after all this. May we be prepared to be drawn to them as You, Father, through the Holy Spirit, draw them to Your Son. There will be so many young people saved during COVID-19! This girl will never feel alone again! I rejoice in Your salvation, Jesus!”
